In 2003 Fitzgerald Fine Arts was hired by Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA to provide artwork for their new Outpatient Care Center. The collection of over 200 works of art explores every media including: glass, traditional painting, enamel, wood and bronze. The highlight of the collection is a lovely depiction of the female form cast in bronze outside the women’s center by artist Stephen Straumlauf.
The Center was the first building on the campus where MJH would eventually build a replacement hospital (opened 2011). In forming a strong art committee for this smaller project and creating a lasting relationship with the local arts community, MJH and FFA were able to create a strong foundation for collaboration when designing the new hospital’s art collection.
